Zancul believes that access to hardware and Samsung's knowledge of technologies, such as the internet of things, will allow the expansion of research at Poli's Production Engineering Department.
He cites as an example a trend in the industrial area for machines with sensors to control production processes and “talk” to each other. “This is the so-called industry or fourth industrial revolution. This technology is based on the internet of things that will be developed in the laboratory and will enable us to advance our research on this topic.” Guilherme Selber, manager of Ocean São Paulo, also highlighted that internet of things technology will be the subject of activities developed in conjunction with USP. “Samsung has a perspective of connecting everything it produces in the coming years, that is, all devices connecting between themselves and people, and it is a very current topic at Poli and other units at USP. We noticed a great synergy in this matter.” Among the equipment produced by the company are cell phones, tablets, wearables (“wearable” communication devices), televisions, cameras, computers, printers, supplies, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioning.
